This album showed a “Darker” side of the 40oz. Freaks, with sinister production from The Highest Child, (My Hoopty) and more agressive delivery from Injustice (Anomaly), however, it does include “signiture” moments on tracks like “Feelin Like I’m Feelin” and “The Weed Dance”. During this era the 40oz. Freaks experimented with new ideas, which resulted in them finding a unique style during a boring and generic era of hip-hop. With a wide mixture of influences, Anomaly proved to be an important key in laying the 40oz. Freaks’ foundation, also being one of the first “electronic”-influenced hip-hop abums of its’ generation.

Recorded in San Luis Obispo, CA in 2009 Popular Songs: Around The World Remix, Da 40oz. Funk, So Addicted (Technologic) Daft Drunk is a mixtape, inspired by Daft Punk. This mixtape was released for free as promotion to “The Freakuency”. It consists of 10 tracks, all remixes or remakes connected to existing Daft Punk hits. The 40oz. Freaks continue to prove that they are ahead of the curve, by succesfully fusing hip-hop with electronic music. The diversity of the 40oz. freaks fanbase had grown signifficantly with the release of Daft Drunk, appealing to an entirely new crowd of listeners. Immediately after releasing “Anomaly”, the 40oz. Freaks wasted no time before begining work on their next album titled “The Freakuency”. In this approach, the freaks hit the studio with a more uplifting style, and captured lighter-mooded songs, such as, “My Spaceship” and “Lift Me Up”, while still keeping their signature humor in songs such as “My Girlfriends’ Crazy”, and “Stay Away”. “The Freakuency” established a trend in the 40oz. Freaks experimenting in the creation of their music, which by now, had largely contributed their unique and refreshing style. With a newly established name and a growing buzz, the 40oz. Freaks continued evolving into a more talented and intriguing group, this time backed by more support than ever. As a result of the freaks continued dedication, they were able to take “The Freakuency” to the next level, both musically and financially. Scoring their first radio interview on 4/20/09 on WILD 106 of the Central Coast, CA., including a solid radio presence which lasted over 6 weeks. Along with a successful website launch, and album release concert on April 24th, 2009 with fellow 40oz-drinking-rapper- Afroman, the freaks were then even more determined to take their music to a more wide-spread audience.
